Pamelia Kurstin and guests

Internationally renowned theremin player Pamelia Kurstin has retrieved this wonderful and strange instrument from the hands of sci-fi film makers and made it her own.  Her remarkable improvisations have led to collaborations with David Byrne, Foetus, Cibo Matto, Bela Fleck and Matthew Sweet.

Artist and designer Matt Wade has created a unique responsive installation especially for Kurstins performance at E:vent. Using a programming language called Processing, Wade transforms the sounds of the theremin into delicate abstract drawings that respond to the music.
